Grace and peace, friends.

I came across a quote recently by Helen Keller that floored me. Literally, when I read it, I had to stop, find a piece of paper, and write it down. Helen Keller said the following: “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”

That’s a powerful word. Sounds a lot like what the wisest man in the world, Solomon, wrote in the Book of Proverbs: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

So, what is vision? By simple definition, it is the ability to think about or plan for the future with imagination and wisdom. From the dictionary standpoint, that sounds great. However, this human idea of vision has inherent limits in the extent of our wisdom and our imagination.

When God steps in, our vision increases, our mission field expands, and the Lord leads the way.

This is why our Vision Night came into being. We wanted to open ourselves up to God and His infinite wisdom and vast imagination for the road ahead for The Woodlands Methodist Church. We wanted to intentionally create space for God while engaging with one another as a church.

Church, we are asking, seeking and allowing for vision. Each week, I am seeing with my own eyes a transformation in this church that I didn’t know was possible. Remember, this journey we are on is not just about the destination; it’s about the people we are becoming along the way. It’s about embracing the process, staying open to God's leading, and being willing to step out in faith. It’s exciting as we dive deeper into our relationship with God and engage in the life of the church, actively participating in God’s redemptive work, bringing His Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.

So, church, keep pressing in, keep seeking God’s presence, and keep investing in the life of the church. Trust that God has amazing things in store for The Woodlands Methodist Church. May our journey be marked by deepening relationships with God, an ever-growing love for others, and an unwavering hope that the best is yet to come.
