“LOVE JESUS AND HAVE FUN DOING IT.”
– BOB SWAN

Welcome to NextGen Students Ministry! Students from 7th to 12th grade move beyond the basics – we want to help students answer the question, "What's next?" We want them to grow in their faith, take ownership of their relationships with Jesus and honor God with their lives. Everyone is welcome. We can't wait to meet you!

SHIFT: High School Bible Study

Wednesdays | 8:00 p.m.

At SHIFT, our Wednesday night Bible study, we want high school students to turn to Jesus. There are no gimmicks, no frills — just worship, the Word and community. Come join us!

Crowded House is our loud, high-energy experience for students on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. Join us for worship, games and the Word!

High School Small Groups are the heartbeat behind our ministry. Our hope is that each high school student is part of a small group, intentionally being poured into by an adult leader. Each group is divided by age and gender and will meet weekly to dig into the Word and build a community that supports each other through all of high school's ups and downs.

Please contact Diego Mercado, Shepherd of Discipleship and Spiritual Formation.

Being a teen in today’s world is tough. Parenting a teen in today’s world can be overwhelming. We’re happy to discuss with you any special concerns you have regarding your junior high or high school student. We’re eager to support you as you and your child navigate this unique life stage.

Wednesdays during the school year | 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
6th – 12th grade

We welcome all students in junior high school and high school to enjoy fellowship with NextGen Students. We meet at the church for about 45 minutes of outdoor-based activity before jumping into some Bible study for the second half of our evenings.

Recent trends suggest that many teenagers lose connection with the church as they transition into adulthood. These are often individuals who have been active in “kids church” and student programs but later perceive church as irrelevant. What’s causing this disconnection? How can we foster continued engagement among young adults? We believe the key lies in promoting multigenerational relationships.

At Covenant Church at Creekside, we prioritize intergenerational worship; therefore, we don’t offer separate services specifically for students. We believe it’s vital for teens to worship alongside and build relationships with individuals of all ages within our church community.

By instilling a sense of belonging within a church family, we aim to equip our students with the foundation for healthy relationships and a lasting faith journey into adulthood.

Arnold Arreaga
NextGen Students Shepherd
Arnold is honored to serve as NextGen Students Shepherd for Covenant Church at Creekside. Born and raised in Guatemala, he moved to Houston in 2019, answering God’s call to ministry. His journey began as a worship leader, using music to share the gospel, but God led him to youth and communications ministry — shaping him for this moment. Through these experiences, he learned to serve with love, empowering the next generation to live boldly for Christ. Arnold is passionate about walking alongside students and families, helping them discover their God-given gifts, and inspiring them to make an impact for His kingdom.
