Practicing the Way: Sabbath

Wednesday at 5:30 PM

The Sabbath is a 24-hour time period set aside to stop, rest, delight, and worship. It is the best day of the week. In our era of chronic exhaustion, emotional unhealth, and spiritual stagnation, few things are more necessary than the recovery of this ancient practice.

Our faith is centered on a relationship with Jesus. As we look at the life of Jesus, we see that He observed recurring practices that centered His life. When we enter into a life that practices the same things Jesus did — Sabbath, prayer, fasting, solitude, Scripture, generosity, witness, service and community — we see that our life becomes more like Him.

This fall, join us for Practicing the Way, a four-week class that steps into these practices of Jesus. The first session will focus on “Sabbath” and will meet on Wednesdays, beginning October 2, at 5:30 p.m. in Aldersgate Hall.
