It’s hard to believe that this weekend we celebrate 45 years of ministry as The Woodlands Methodist Church. From simple beginnings on January 8, 1978, to new spaces, a new campus, new ministries and a new season for our church ahead, I think we can all agree that God has done immeasurably more than we could have asked or imagined!
To be honest, when God called my family to The Woodlands almost 10 years ago, I could not have dreamed of the honor I now have serving as senior pastor of such an amazing church. The first Sunday I stepped onto this campus, I was greatly impacted by the stories of incredible outreach and help given to so many through the Missions Ministry of this church. Through the years that have followed, I have witnessed people coming to faith for the first time, seen individuals and families being restored through prayer, and have watched young people boldly leading as witnesses to what God is doing in their lives. As I look at how the Holy Spirit is moving and at your faithfulness to God’s calling, I find that there’s a phrase I have been saying a lot lately, “That’s my church!”
I’m just so proud to see what the Lord is doing in and among the people of TWMC.
This weekend we start a new series in all our worship venues called That’s My Church, and we’re celebrating how God has made us the storytellers of
His story. Please join us for our 45th anniversary weekend as we honor our founding members with a special video and prayer and participate in a mosaic photo project. Plus, what’s a birthday without something sweet to celebrate the occasion? There will be some special cookies to commemorate the occasion!
As we enter this new year, I could not be more proud of our church or more excited about what God has in store for us.
I look forward to seeing you all this weekend in worship!
